EHS Boys Soccer Coaches

EHS Boys Soccer is proud to be one of few high school athletic programs in the state to field four soccer teams – one varsity (2001, 2002, 2003, 2006 and 2016 Division 1 Championship winners), two junior varsity and one freshman team. This equates to nearly 100 boys playing the game they love, staying healthy, building camaraderie, and developing important life skills along the way.

Founder

Head Coach - Dan Curran

Coach Dan Curran was born and raised in Exeter and grew up playing in the Exeter Youth Soccer program and went on to play Varsity soccer at Exeter High School. He served as a captain his senior year. Coach Curran graduated with the class of 1994.

He went on to play 4 years of soccer at Colby Sawyer College serving as captain his junior and senior year and graduating as the then second all time leading goal scorer and third in career points.

Coach Curran previously served as the Varsity soccer coach at Spaulding High School in Rochester from 2007-2017.

Coach Curran has been the Exeter High School Varsity coach since 2017. He is extremely excited to have returned to his roots to lead the Boys Soccer program at EHS.

JV White Coach - Seth Macomber

Coach Seth Macomber has been a member of the Exeter High School boys soccer program since 2015. He assumed the role of JV White coach after four years as the Freshman coach. He also coached four years of club soccer at Seacoast United.

In addition to his coaching responsibilities, Seth teaches eighth grade social studies at the Cooperative Middle School.

JV Blue Coach - Ed Lettich

Coach Ed Lettich was born and raised in Hawthorne, New Jersey, where he made varsity sophomore year at Hawthorne High where he was starting left back. He jokes that he has no true left foot as he’s deaf in his left ear and the position gave him the convenience of his right ear facing the team throughout the games). His crowning achievement was making the second round of counties for the BPSL league for the first time since 1932. He began his soccer journey playing for the town teams when he was only seven years old, and after graduating high school in 2000, he went to college at Keene and played intramurals. Since then, he has been on coed and men’s teams in the area. He started coaching soccer for Litchfield Middle School in 2013, then Cooperative Middle School for 5 years before coming to EHS.

“What excites me about coaching is the different way I now participate in the game. Coaching brings a dynamic of strategy and development of formations, plays and more that I hadn’t experienced prior to coaching. Practicing and developing the boys is another layer of teaching that I utterly enjoy. Like my teaching style, I take and encourage player feedback for positions, formations, drills and more. I feel that players know themselves best, and I love to give them opportunities to grow in their own ways. I want to develop and encourage the love for the game that I have had throughout my life.”

Freshmen Coach - Indy Thompson

Coach Indy Thompson joined the the team as Freshmen Coach in 2022. He is from Rochester, New Hampshire where he attended Spaulding High School. Indy played soccer all 4 years at Spaulding, and later attended Newbury College in Boston where he played Division 3 soccer. His Senior year he was nominated team captain and led the team to their first ever conference championship in school history qualifying for the NCAA tournament.

“I love soccer and have a passion for the sport. I’m excited to be able to share my passion coaching players, helping them develop, and getting them ready for the next level.”
